As a patient you have many options in fixing crowded, misaligned, crocked, rotated or spaces. (Diastema). Beautiful smiles starts with even and straight teeth. What are your options?
1) The simplest fix is a removable retainer. A retainer is a removable appliance with wires across your teeth. It needs to be worn at night and most of the day and can only perform limited movement of teeth. It can push in one or two teeth and close gaps, but it cannot do any comprehensive realignment of your teeth. It does not rotate teeth, intrude or extrude teeth, nor does it realign all teeth in a very predictable way. It's a very inexpensive concept and does a great job for the simple alignment issues that most people have. The ideal scenario for this appliance is if one or two teeth are protruding and need to be realigned.
2) Traditional Braces With traditional braces you have a fixed appliance with wires and brackets attached to your teeth. While not very aesthetically pleasing, braces get the job done very effectively if done by an experienced dentist.
Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth by using a custom-made series of aligners created just for you.
These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. They look very much like bleaching trays. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist plans out for you. The key to success with Invisalign is the treatment plan on the computer. Results are predictable and permanent. Before we order the trays, we have a 3D simulation program. With this tool, you can see your teeth’s movement progress (12 months of treatment, for example) in a 30-second movie, and you can evaluate how your teeth are moved and what the end result will look like. If you like the end result on the simulation, we will order Invisalign for you. As an option, we can also give you complimentary bleaching gel, so you can whiten your teeth as you are wearing the custom trays (Invisalign). This way you can get the most reward for your efforts: straighter and naturally whiter teeth.
There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You simply pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete and you achieve the confident smile that you've always wanted.
One major advantage is that most people won't even know you're straightening your teeth. In our office we have a great dentist on staff, Dr. Yana, who has fit Invisalign exclusively for the past 14 years. Dr. Yana is an expert in this area and knows all the details. She has stopped practicing general dentistry and has become an "Invisalign only"? dentist. She is able to treat cases that most dentists would only treat with traditional braces with remarkable success. She has been awarded "Elite Provider"? by Invisalign year after year due to the high volume of cases she has mastered.
